Terms of use
Who we are
Brisbane Streets is a free browser game made by one person in Queensland, Australia. No accounts, no ads, nothing to buy. Contact: see the Safety page. By playing you agree to these terms.
The game
- Solo play is open to everyone. It has violence and strong language.
- Online play (a test, "beta") puts you in a room with other players. It contains their text chat and voice chat: what they say is theirs, not ours. Chat is filtered and voice is live, so you may still meet things you don't like. Online play is meant for players 13 and over; if you're younger, play solo or ask a parent.
- AI characters: some people in the city answer with replies made by AI. They are made up and may say incorrect or unexpected things. Nothing they say is advice.
Acceptable behaviour
Be kind and play fair. Online, don't do anything on the prohibited list on the Safety page: no hate, bullying, threats, sexual content, asking for personal details, pretending to be staff or police, encouraging harm, cheating, hacking, bots or spam, and no rude names.
Moderation and bans
We may warn you, mute you (up to a week; the game also mutes for 10 minutes after 3 blocked messages), kick you from the room, or ban you from online play for a time or for good. Solo play stays open. Threats, grooming, child abuse material and terrorist material get a ban straight away and are reported to the police.
Appeals
A ban message shows a ban code. If you think it was wrong, email the safety address within 30 days with the code and why. A person will look at it again.
What you write and say
It's yours. You let us show it to the players in your room and check it with the filter. What we keep is in the Privacy policy.
Support the game
Donations through the Ko-fi link are optional and not needed to play anything: the game is free, and a donation is a gift that unlocks nothing.
No guarantees
The game is free and given as it is. It may break, change or close (online included) at any time. Nothing here takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Apart from those, we aren't responsible for loss caused by the game being down, by other players, or by what an AI character says. These terms are under Queensland law. If they change, the date at the top changes.
